Lifelong Strangers

There’s two types of people in this world:

  1. People you know.

  2. Strangers.

Due to COVID-19 the phrase “stranger danger,” has taken on a new meaning, with many of us seeking refuge close to home with familiar faces. But how well do you know the people in your bubble? With many of our daily conversations barely scratching the surface, I would argue that you don’t know everything about these people, making them strangers to you in that regard.

In August, I was introduced to we’re not really strangers; a purpose-driven card game and movement all about empowering meaningful connections. I fell in love with the concept. The game requires you to answer questions honestly and playing it with my subjects it has sparked conversations that would have otherwise gone unsaid.

My hope is that these images create new conversations with you, the viewer, and inspire people to reach out to those around them. We’re not as alone as it may seem.

“If you could get to know someone on a deeper level, who would it be and why?”
